LG's smallest OLED yet, the 48" CX has been hotly anticipated as being both small enough to be used as a big monitor, and, at $1,500, inexpensive enough to consider as a TV upgrade to compliment the new Xbox Series X and Playstation 5 gaming consoles (due to HDMI 2.1 support for 4K 120 gaming).

  • LG still havne't released this in my region so I caved and imported one from the US. Have the 55 inch in the living room and frankly every monitor on the market right now is garbage in one way or another, so I'll keep my fast ultrawide for competetive games, and use the cx 48 for everything else.

  • I have a 60hz 65inch Sony Bravia OLED.. and a 144hz Ips monitor. Even when I run 60 on my Sony compared to 144 on my monitor, the Sony looks cleaner and actually looks smoother. Though you can tell the latency difference where the monitor wins with 144hz. But I do love hooking my pc up to my oled sometimes for single player games. Looks so good.

  • im nervous because there are differing opinions on this tv. I bought a series x and am excited to try it on my LG 48 CX. I played the xbox one i have on it and it was pretty bad, so i am still playing that on my monitor. I'm assuming the new console will feel and look much better. If it still "feels like a tv" with the new console, i'm going to just buy a better monitor........ i hope i didn't waste money on the CX!

  • It think it's to small. Get a GX55, that's what I did. Looks clean at the wall. No cables. And since it's so close to the wall, it's farther away from you, than a CX could be. For that it's not even that big and 55 inch is ok.

It is better than blurbusters UFO test, because it runs in Unreal engine, instead of in the browser, and thus can support many more scenarios -> www.aperturegrille.com/software/ Explained here -> frworld.info/net/vid-o/3XejrNt2pXeZs4w

  • After everything I just learned about "mother glass" and the way in which they most cost effectively cut our panels to size from a large glass substrate- nothing makes any sense. They could get way more money if they took that mother glass, and made it into monitors, than for TV's- like literally at least double. It's not like they couldn't sell them in volume. It's as if there's a hidden hand that prefers we're all using highly regulated and monitored walled gardens, rather than the open systems PC's currently are.

  • If LG does create an alternative screen for the desk... they also should think about the size. Knowing, that 40" is too small for tv's it might be actually pretty perfect when you work in front of it. Love to see a LG CX OLED 38 / 42

Hear something about some monitors didn't go that high on the free sync.. idk, just what I heard. I'm curious about the LG an d how it handles this tbh. Thinking about buying one of these LG CX 48 Tv tomorrow for my series x.. Atm i am using a Asus MG278Q monitor.. Probably no doubt about the LG CX beating my Asus monitor in absolutely every aspect possible ? Right ?? Ps: clearly i am no tech guru.. i am trying to find guidance on the subject. • ABL (Automatic Brightness Limiter) is the dealbreaker here. On the CX series, its aggressive- so if you’re playing a game that’s in in dark area (or watching a movie for that matter) the screen dims until the scene changes or it gets bright again - and then you’ll literally see it brighten before your eyes. There’s no way to turn this off either. What. A. Shame.

Then i had to turn off the function and turn it on again. Had to this every day. Didn't try without the function because of burn in risk. Was a really nice tv, but this was a deal breaker for me.
