  • Nothing like having your laptop in class starting the ramp up the fans because you have a windows update in the pipe, i have a Clevo p775 and there is nothing discreet about that.

  • Laptop pricing is horrendous for their specs. Bought a supposed "gaming" HP laptop from best buy for 1.2k. it's been close to two years now and it overheats when I play just about any game. I couldn't even run the newer triple A games on low settings when I just bought it. I guess at 2k or higher you would be able to get better specs but it's a complete ripoff considering you could probably make a much better desktop with half the price.

  • Yeah I don't need a 17 inch nasa supercomputer taking up 2 textbooks worth of backpack. I can barely fit everything in there with my thin and light unless you know you're going to do school from home till you graduate or are getting a PhD in aerospace engineering or something I cant see any reason to buy any 17 inch laptop or any thick 15 incher. The 2k+ price tag also doest help sell it to college student who can't afford food, but nice video otherwise I guess.

I use for gaming of course but I need the processing power to make games and handle the rendering and processing aspects as well. I love it ^_^

  • The 2k one looks good ngl, but if you can buy that just go with the HP Omen 15 or G14 or even a Razer laptop for better portability. For actual students going back to school I recommend laptops with a GTX 1650/1650 TI, they usually go for $700. That should be enough lol. (It is for me haha) Unless you're into engineering or animation...I'd recommend the Acer Predator Helios 300 (2020).

They only offered a year warranty at the time... 2 weeks ago when Nvidia had the 3000 series launch event, my computer randomly err'd and now my Nvidia card is no longer acknowledged by my mobo.. Tried all solutions other than replacing the entire mobo with Rtx 2080 and nothing worked. Now i have a $3000.00 Laptop with intel uhd. Ill never buy a gaming laptop again. Beware.

  • I chose the Lenovo Legion y-540 gaming laptop for college because it is lightweight, it isn't flashy, and it is a lot cheaper than most gaming laptops, and It is also easily upgradable. I bought a Lenovo legion y-540 with a 6 core Intel i7-9750, 16gb of ram, an Nvidia 1660Ti graphics card, and a 256GB SSD for $900. I did a lot of research before buying this laptop and It's still one of the best budget gaming laptops you can buy. I love how the monitor has a very small bezel, and it isn't glossy and reflective like most laptops, it is amazing for gaming and watching movies. I would also suggest adding a hard drive along with the SSD to add more game storage.

  • huh. two 250W bricks , and here i was thinking that my huge 330W brick was big. also if you guys want to look at more these heavy desktop class "laptops", then maybe you should take a look at getting fan control software from here at least my clevo unit with the standard software suite from pc specialist's, with i7-8700k and gtx-1070 really come into life only after i got the software suite from obsidian pc for my unit. biggest life changer was how with the stock software, in the desktop/standard browsing cpu hovered around 45-55c. it was something like this. you start from 45c and the fans were almost silent, and in under a minute of using it. then it would reach 55c and the fans went insane until we were back at 45c and repeat. with the less flashy obsidian package, i was able to fine tune it to stay around 47c and never during normal use does my fans actually ramp up at all. obviously this is more something, if you were thinking of testing if you could actually live with these kind of laptops or not. but with better ability to tweak your fan curves, could also give out bit more performance from it. also yes, when i was traveling, i did put the 330W powerbrick on the briefcase with my clothes, (was going on a buss) rather than tried to put it on my laptop bag. 😂

  • why do you always open the laptops from one side or another, and not from the middle ? ideea for new content, do you remember the old laptops with a slide button on the middle ? the cheaper models from all the known brands always break their hinges or the screen because people are opening them from the left side or the right side

  • Last time i was students can't even afford laptop...i've used low budget desktop
